Catherine Bell

My name is Catherine Bell, author of horror e-book The Children of Manson.

I have been a writer for most of my life, and get a nostalgic buzz when trawling through the stories I wrote during my childhood. Horror is my favourite genre, both to read and write; I’m always on the lookout for new influences!

My other hobbies include metal detecting (I’m an amateur archaeologist) nail art, and watching reams and reams of horror films. Oh, and I do take the occasional stab at poetry!

What are you working on next?
I've got a couple of pieces I'm working on at the moment:

One is a collection of short stories, called the Sick and Sombre Tales of Sinister Town. So watch this space as the first one will be out soon!

The other is another horror, with a Room 101 style concept to it.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favourite author is Stephen King. My favourite work by him was a joint piece with Peter Straub. I remember vividly being too scared to turn the page, and even flipping forward a couple of pages first to steel myself into going back to read it.

That is what inspired me to write horror myself. I want to instil that feeling in others- and I feel that the images your imagination conjured are so much more powerful than those fed to you by films.
