4.5/5 Stars: Truly an amazing book which unites history, psychology, and gender identity issues in an amazingly engaging story. Ms. Gardner’s use of perspective and the portrayal of time are complex and also accessible, helping to characterize differing personalities in a way which is totally unique. Some mature content and a few errors in grammar, but over all a brilliant book worth the time and emotional commitment it asks of readers. See the full review at www.theunboundunderground.com

4.5 Stars out of 5: A family drama written in the style of a crime thriller which satisfies emotionally and examines complex themes with broad perspective. A fast-paced but thorough look into the nature of divorce and its effects on parents and children, with some great descriptions of Italy, which all combine in a well-balanced novel and deserving winner of an Emerging Artist Grant for literature.
