Larry M. Binion

Biography

I am a Christian. I am a writer. I am a reader

I write what I'd like to read. I am perhaps the only one I know who does "Caricatures of Immortality," a snapshot in time of a person who's life intertwines with mine. it is not a character sketch. Sometimes it becomes s short story, sometimes not. I like to do poetry that says something, not the everyday dribble that passes for poetry. I also write personal and impersonal essays, stories for children and personalized greeting cards.

I have several books almost ready. I will be working on submitting these items to Kindle in the coming year.
It is important to remember that just because something is written for enjoyment, does not mean that it is true. When a fiction book is read, one must suspend belief that that reality is real, for it is not. The job of a writer is to be convincing enough to make it seem as if it COULD be real. When the reader has finished reading the book, reality should have no problem reasserting itself.

When I write, my aim is to be truly unforgettable. If it is not, I have wasted everyone's time, including my own.

I began writing for myself at age 12. I have never shared much of anything with anyone else. Through the years, however, I have been encouraged to offer my writings to the public.

I once went through a "Dry Spell" in which I didn't produce anything. While writing about this later in the third person, I felt I needed to refer to myself in the third person. I decided to call myself the wordmaster. After all, anyone who uses words is a wordmaster. Not that I'm a master, but I tell words what to do. Like a puppetmaster is to puppets, a wordmaster is to words
