Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I was born in Karlskoga, Sweden and grew up in Striberg, a small village in the forest of Bergslagen. The whole village was my playground, I was always outdoors, and always making up stories to complement my own and also with my friends imaginary play.
When did you first start writing?
I've always written in Swedish, but in English only since my children were born. When I came to Ireland people laughed at my way of speaking English for months. When starting to write again, I didn't realise that writing in English was like learning a new language. Reading some of my early stuff brings tears to my eyes, tears of fits of laughter.

This is an unconventional story of four teens standing up against school's incessant need to change people to fit the system. It's a story of claiming back ownership of self and shining a light on the fact that children are not free and equal but indentured to their parents and school.
