You can't judge a book by its cover. That is especially true of this book. While it is ostensibly about cycling, the cycling is but a vehicle for an amazing storyteller with a message that is both insightful and inspiring. Like the our universal experience when we all first learned to ride a bike, the author expands on that universal medium to expose the poetry and tragedy wrought by life, both on and off the bike. Cycling is the South Bay shares a journey that we can all relate and aspire to. Don't be surprised if you should find your self laughing out loud and a few minutes later crying your eyes out. I highly recommend this book, whether or not you are a cyclist you will not be sorry.
