Robert L J Borg
Robert L J Borg: Author and Publisher a.k.a. Louise Roberts & Alexander Grant.
I was born in Alexandria, Egypt in August 1951 to British parents by Maltese descent. Following the Suez Crisis in November 1956 my parents were compelled to abandon their assets and home, and leave the country as political refugees. I grew up and was educated in London, England and have always held a passion for history and English Literature.
At the age of twenty, a poem, Despair in Blindness, written by me was included in an anthology entitled “Contemporary Poets of 1971” published by Regency Press Ltd, London. The same poem was later adopted and translated in Braille by the Royal Society of the Blind. In recognition for this work I was honoured by having a guide dog, a German shepherd, named after me. It was this small gesture which fuelled my passion in writing. This poem is included in a poetry anthology entitled “Poetic Whispers” which was e-published in January 2013. This book contains poems written by me and my mother, Viviane Elisabeth Borg*.
In 1988 I immigrated to Sydney, Australia. I currently reside in the northern bushland suburb of Berowra located just south of the Hawkesbury River.
In 2009 I became a member of Hawkesbury River Writers and was President of the group from 2011 – 2013 (http//www.hrw.org.au). I am a member of Romance Writers of Australia, Australian Romance Readers Association, and Australian Society of Authors.
I write Historical Romance and Drama Commercial and Literary Fiction [Adult and Children] and Historical Non-Fiction, including poetry and travel writing. The latter mostly on my Blog [at least for now]. At present most of my work is published through Smashwords.com and is available through their site, as well as at Barnes & Noble. The books are registered at the National Library of Australia, Canberra.
In 2014 Secret Cravings Publishing will be releasing two novels written in my pen name: Louise Roberts. The first a Historical Romance Saga entitled "The Sword and the Rose" is to be e-published in April. In June a Historical Romance novella which is a follow on from the saga called "Embrace Amidst Orange Blossoms" is also due for e-publishing. Both will be available on Amazon initially. In October 2014 "The Sword and the Rose" is to be available in print.
Louise Roberts is currently writing her fourth Romance novel which is set in England during World War Two.
*Viviane Elisabeth Borg is a published author, who in 1997 published her memoirs "When the Wind Blows" currently no longer available. In 2012 I e-published her fiction women's sleuth novel entitled "A Tangled Web".
