Traveling and living overseas is what I've done over the past 17 years. My first country as an expat and teacher of English was España (Spain). It's also where I learned Spanish which opened the door to this lifestyle and career. I have taught ESL in the U.S., Guatemala, Turkey, Viet Nam and of course, México. Most of my experience is teaching one-on-one, although I have taught in language schools. The knowledge of a second language has provided me opportunities and education that I never could have gotten in my own country. I highly believe that teaching ESL (or any other language) in a foreign country is the best way to learn about a culture and its people first hand.
