Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the mountainous region of Trinidad situated in the West Indies, also known as the Caribbean. We are generally a superstitious people growing up with stories of ghosts and jumbies, that some people have seen. I believe most of them to be true. Since such stories are always at the forefront of my mind, and I love writing why not stick to horror stories? And here I am, doing what I love best.
What's the story behind your latest book?
This is my first. I've had short stories published, but this is my first attempt at writing a collection. I had all these ideas floating around in my head. Sometimes I couldn't sleep comfortably because they keep turning around and around till I eventually got them down. Then there was a bit of order up there. All the stories in this collection is based on something that happened to me or someone I know. With a lot of embellishments of course, to make them a bit more exciting.
