Smashwords Interview

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
In grade seven I wrote a story about another planet--the planet bon. Crazy things happened on the planet bon! I just remember being shocked when the teacher passed it on to the principal and the principal read it out to the whole school.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The Narnia series rocked my world! I absolutely fell in love with the characters and the magical, fantasy style of the books. I wished I could go to Narnia! I cried, I laughed and felt such a sense of wistfulness when I read the last book. Over the years I've reread the series about twenty times. Each time I read them, I get something new out of the content. The spiritual themes running through the book with Aslan the Lion is touching and beautiful also. As I child I didn't understand all the nuances of the symbols, so when I got older I enjoyed the new depth to the stories. The Narnia books will always be my favourite ones.
