Gary Adair is an award winning outdoor writer and photographer and a member of the Outdoor Writers of Ohio. With credits in many regional and national publications on bird dogs and upland bird hunting, he has also written on the subject of fishing and spring turkey hunting. His true love though and the inspiration for his writing will always be upland birds and the Chesapeake Bay retrievers he used to hunt them. Although they have since passed on, Cinnamon and Sage hunted most species of upland birds in multiple states across the lower forty-eight. He and his wife, Roechelle, live in Northern Kentucky with their daughter Jordan and their English springer spaniel named Storm.
A woodcock hunters abstract -- and sometimes opinionated -- perspective for hunting in the 21st century. Although the tips and strategies are beneficial to all woodcock hunters, it is geared mostly toward those that already have a basic understanding of this misunderstood bird.
