VANCE PUMPHREY is an avid D&D player, Dungeon Master, and reader of fantasy, science fiction, westerns, mystery, and novels. Born in 1959 to a military family, when a high school senior he joined the U.S. Navy and served aboard a submarine. Currently he is a maintenance manager for a glass manufacturing plant and coaches youth baseball. His favorite writer is Stephen R. Donaldson. He resides in Seattle.
Dragma’s Keep, which he began writing 25 years ago, is his first published novel. “About two years ago I got serious,” Pumphrey said. “I retyped all the previous work into Word and really got going. For the past few years I had been using my lunch hour to read – my escape from…whatever. I shifted that to writing. I found I could get in a couple of pages every day, and even spent some time on weekends working on it.”
