Vanessa Coens is a leading Autism Advocate, speaking to local Colleges, Highschools and Elementary schools about the journey that her 2 sons with Classic Autism have been on since 2010, and the love and acceptance that comes with the journey full of challenges. Since completing College in 2004, Vanessa has been a Developmental Support Worker at Bethesda Services since 2005, working with a variety of individuals living with developmental disabilities, including Autism. After having her three children, and coming to terms that her sons were diagnosed with Autism (2010 and 2012), Vanessa has committed her life to advocacy, awareness, and education to her community of Niagara, Ontario, Canada. With her husband Ryan, and her children (Owen, Maddie and Benjamin), Vanessa continues to raise awareness by public speaking, volunteering for Autism Ontario – Niagara Chapter, running every June on team, “Owen and Ben” and weekly posting on her blog, OwenandBensjourney.blogspot.ca.
