Stefan Beyazov

Biography

Architect Stefan Beyazov was born in Sofia in 1936. He comes from a family of architects and has carried on the tradition in his own family – his wife, son and daughter are also architects. He graduated in architecture in 1960 and without any hesitation chose design as his special field. He was also actively engaged in public service related to his profession. Until 1990 architect Beyazov worked for a number of design bureaus and after that established his own bureau. His rich portfolio contains many award winning designs, among them social and cultural centres in the towns of Smolyan and Ihtiman, a hotel in the town of Bansko, a kindergarten in the town of Koprivshtitsa, a children’s complex in the village of Kovachevtsi and many other buildings. In the last forty-five years Stefan Beyazov has worked on all town plans of Koprivshtitsa. His public activities involve the following positions: Chairman of the Chamber of Architects, representative of the Architects’ Union in the National Parliament, member of the Sofia Municipality Counsel, etc. Stefan Beyazov has received government awards and distinctions for his professional achievements.
