Like joshuatree104 I also met JT at Crossroads Cafe when he was at Joshua Tree for writing and climbing. I also got a free (and autographed) copy of the paperback and the code for a free eBook. I figured they would be crap b/c they were free. But, after I read the short little book (it's kinda short), I found out I really liked it. He's an odd guy, but friendly, and he gives away free books. I liked The Keeper, and am going to try The Pattern next.
