Carol Vialogos

Biography

During my time in Greece I've finished three books. I wrote a screenplay before I began the novel of The Movie Murders which was born during a conversation with the real Kostas who owned my neighborhood DVD rental store. I have lived in the large multinational cities of Los Angeles, Toronto (born there) and Vancouver this has colored my opinion of immigrants and their struggles to fit in and now as a Canadian expatriate living in Europe since 2002 I too feel the alienation.

Smashwords Interview

What nationality are you?
My family is a mix of English, Irish, Ukrainian and Canadian. My birthplace is Toronto, Ontario. My father is the Irish part of that mix, therefore I hold an Irish passport as well as Canadian.
Your name is unusual is Vialogos your real name?
Yes, Vialogos is my real legal name. When I was going to marry my second husband I had this idea to change our names and come up with a new name just for us. My husband being a zealous cyclist rode his bike up one of the mountains in North Vancouver. At the top of the mountain, he heard someone say,‘Vialogos’ but when he looked, no one was there, of course. Arriving home, he told me the story and asked, what I thought of the name. He changed his last name to Vialogos legally and when we were married I automatically became Vialogos too. We are the only two on the planet as far as I know. The meaning of Vialogos, the way of the word (then is perfect for a writer) so I kept it after our divorce. If you Google my name you will find me and my ex-husband.
