Dimitris Vorinos was born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. He studied at the Drama School of the National and Macedonian Conservatory of Thessaloniki from which he graduated with honors. He served his military service as a transfer officer. At the same time, he was a radio presenter and also directed the radio station of the Armed Forces. After his dismissal from the army, he was the first to present television programs in Greece and worked in the private pilot channel of Thessaloniki’s International Fair. He was also the presenter of half-hour broadcasts on both of the only two radio stations that existed in Northern Greece at that time: Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation and Y.E.N.E.D. He was also a regular contributor to widely known newspapers.
He was the General Manager of TV TIME CANNEL and TIME MUSIC record label. Among others, he released his music and lyrics in special edition CDs. Songs like «The Song of Peace» were written as a protest against the bombing of the neighboring Serbia and transmitted a universal message of peace for the reconciliation of all the people worldwide. Especially for this song, the late Archbishop of Athens and Greece Christodoulos wrote a letter to the author, mentioning that “the lyrics have the aroma of Prophets’ speech in the Old Testament”.
This song was honored with congratulatory letters by the political and religious leadership of the largest states in Europe, including the President of the French Republic, the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, the Patriarch of Russia and the President of the Greek Republic. The German Institute GOETHE translated "The Song of Peace" in the German language. Recognizing the universal and timeless value of the song, the Athens Mayor arranged for the "the Song of Peace" to be recorded in a CD single, performed by the Choir of the Municipality of Athens.
Except for the late Archbishop of Greece, Christodoulos, his poetry collection "Streets of Heart" was honored by His Holiness Metropolitan Anthimos of Thessaloniki, the President of Cyprus, the Archbishop of North and South America and many other prominent personalities.
Inter alia, Dimitris Vorinos wrote "The DNA of the Antichrist", a science fiction Best-Seller, which refers to the victory of good against the infernal powers of darkness. The book is also available as en e-book in the English language and is released worldwide. Dimitris Vorinos is currently a Board member of the Writers' Union of Northern Greece.
