Michael T. Ward

Biography

Raised in Northern Ohio,as many other kids, I graduated high school and immediately started into work.
I have worked many jobs in my life but the one thing I have always remembered were times as a child, using my imagination while playing with others or by myself.
I never saw alone time as a negative, though there were many times I had wished for more children to play with. Even have 6 older sisters and 2 older brothers, you find many times they are busy growing up also and doing the things they want to do.
Many of the stories I write take bits and pieces of my childhood and I incorporate them into the stories or slightly exaggerate and embellish in order to make the story more exciting for the children reading.
I like the fact that a kid who may get into trouble may create havoc and mayhem, but in their heart, they have only the best of intentions. This innocence of childhood is something I think we all need more of in our lives.
Now as a writer I enjoy traveling and experiencing different cultures. I look forward to adding new stories that incorporate my travels to different parts of the world to help children not only learn about other people and places, but have fun doing so whether they be a picture book, short story or something for early readers.
I know my children have been a true blessing in my life and hope the innocence of childhood never leaves them.
For this all I am truly thankful and grateful that now I can share from my own imagination with the world.
