Smashwords Interview

What do you read for pleasure?
I have always read for pleasure. I enjoy fiction and nonfiction (though some people consider some of my reading more along the lines of research). Recently, I read "Forrest Gump" and several books on business management. I don't read anything while I'm working on a project. I don't want another writer's voice to influence mine in anyway. My work needs to be my work.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. Although we have very large cities here, it's still a rainforest. Nature at its unique finest. I started writing when I was a kid, and those stories usually involved nature or wildlife in some form.
