Smashwords Interview

What motivated you to become an indie author?
I've been writing my whole life. I started as editor of my high school newspaper. That led me to a career in journalism. My newspaper career started in the sports department of The Tribune Chronicle in Warren, OH, where I eventually became editor-in-chief. Before retiring in 2004, I was appointed editor of daily newspapers in Valdosta, GA and Manitowoc, WI. It wasn't long after that I began working on my first novel.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I'm a newcomer to Smashwords and excited to see how it works. I have leanred new things about formatting my books for the mass market. The Style Guide is a great tool. Potential authors should read it.

Smashwords book reviews by Gerald L. Guy

  • Dead Fall Back: A Thriller on May 20, 2023

Dead Fall Back is one of the best books I've read in 2023. It's violent, suspenseful and great entertainment. I was expecting John Rambo to step out of the bushes at any time. Great work, Tony.
  • Manae the Rower: Origins on July 12, 2023

Tony Masero’s diverse skills as a story-teller continue to amaze me. His epic tale about Manae, a Carthage survivor who emerges from the depths of servitude aboard a Roman ship, is full of excitement, raw violence of the era, and adventure. Manae endures hardship after hardship as if he is a man cursed. Will he ever find freedom and peace? Buy this great tale and find out.
