Biography

With more than 20 years in corporate marketing as a writer/marketer, a publications manager, and having published two monthly journals of my own, I still love reading and writing above all other activities. Sweet Mystery Books was born in July 2012 when I was helping promote a self-published mystery author's first book. After finding few mystery book sites that would allow self-published authors to showcase their work, I decided to do what I always do; I moved outside the box again and created a site that would consider all authors - as long as they had a well written and professionally produced mystery novel. I also offer proofing of final manuscripts for novelists. I read and review mysteries of various types on the SweetMysteryBooks.com for free and share those that I love on all my social media connections.

Fleur deKey by Vickie Pettee: Great characters, creative story, real Louisana flavor, plenty of action and a psychic heroine, everything I love in a paranormal mystery novel. I love mysteries that feature psychic heroines, and I really like it when they are fallible and tell the story the way psychics really experience the information. This is my first read of a Vickie Pettee book, but it won't be my last. ~Sandy Penny, Founder of Sweet Mystery Books

Clean, romantic and wonderfully engaging. Amelia Fernside has captured my heart, and each book I read continues to move me through many emotions. This story of a spoiled wealthy Lady and a poor servant who switch places to protect the Lady is great fun. The Lady learns humility and to consider the feelings of others, which is new for her. The ambitious servant girl learns the value of honesty. And, of course, there's some heart-pounding romance happening. I always want more when this author's short stories end, but not in the cliff hanger way, just that the book was such good company, I wanted it to tell me more. ~Sandy Penny
