William M. Schmalfeldt, Sr

Biography

Retired government writer, journalist, broadcaster. podcaster. Recently widowed after 25 years of marriage to the finest person I've ever met. 16 years with Parkinson's disease. The most hated in by the gaggle of right wing trolls on Twitter, and rightly so. Living alone for the very first time in my 60 years on this planet in St. Francis, WI. Are you outraged by the metamorphosis of the United States from a Constitutional Democratic Republic, to a Christian American Taliban Religiofascist Theocracy? Me too. But worry not. We'll all be dead soon.

This is a modern day, true telling of the parable of the Widow’s Mite. I offer it as a small measure, a “Widower’s Mite” if you will, to put a spotlight on someone who would crack my skull for drawing attention to her if she were still living, but someone whose life could be, and should be, an inspiration to all of us. I dedicate it to the memory of the most inspirational person I ever knew.
