Tony Williams

I was born in Castries, Saint Lucia. From a young age I set out to pursue my dream of becoming a writer. I started off as a news reporter soon after leaving secondary school. A few years later I reluctantly left journalism to take over the management of a family-owned banana plantation. Ten years later I gave it up to return to journalism and went on to become the editor of the Crusader newspaper in Saint Lucia.I was subsequently awarded a Reuters Fellowship in journalism at Green College, Oxford University.

I am currently a freelance journalist which allows me to devote more time to creative writing. I’m also the creator of Caribbean Book Blog which informs writers and readers about the latest developments in the global book trade and how they are likely to affect writers in regions like Africa and the Caribbean.
