Finally. A resource book about college admissions for students and parents that is current, comprehensive, and accurate. I began my admission process last month and had been quite stressed out about it, until I found this brilliant book online. Pros: 1. Very student-friendly, as it is written by an alumnus of University of Chicago and the authors have first-hand experience of this stuff 2. Covers everything about the admission process 3. Helped me in selecting the best colleges in the U.S. for me, based on a lot of factors like size and fees 4. Complete information about financial aid- I didn't know there were so many kinds of grants, loans and scholarships that will help me so much to pay for college 5. Info about early action and decision very helpful 6. Full application process explained very nicely, including the forms, essays and letters of recomendation 7. The parts about 'interviews' and 'life on campus' are very good and the advice is very helpful. The authors cover every single detail, right from the packing checklist, list of documents to take, selecting courses and a major, and even info about food, transport and shopping. 8. My mom and dad found the section about 'parent's guide' very useful Cons (only 1!): 1. The info is only about American colleges. Hopefully they will write another book soon about UK and other universities too.
