    Downloaded this book on iBooks and I couldn't put it down! Well written, with a strong, likeable hero and heroine and a super bitchy villain. The characters were nicely developed and so was the werewolf background and premise. I highly recommend this and the other books in Nicky Charles' Law of the Lycan Series. Book 1: The Mating - Kane & Elise Book 2: The Keeping - Ryne & Melody Book 3: The Finding - Brian & Cassandra Book 4: Bonded - Reno & Brandi *Bonded is not exactly following the previous 3 books, but still related

    The Keeping is the second book in Nicky Charles' Law of the Lycans series, following The Mating and tells the story of Ryne, Kane's half brother. I enjoyed the story of Ryne and Melody, but not as much as I enjoyed the first book. The characters are nicely developed but I felt like the subplot took away from the main romance and it was a bit hard for me to believe that they had fallen in love. But that's just me! Still a very good book and a solid installment in this very enjoyable series.

    Not my cup of tea. Story is slow to begin and formatting is horrible. Too many unnecessary exclamation points and it makes all the characters seem perpetually excited! all! the! time!! I got through the first 60 pages and skipped to end. Story involves drugs and rape. Didn't like the ending either. I think I prefer stories with a little more emotion, this just came off as a bit impersonal for erotica/romance.

    great read! well developed characters with well thought out backstories and personal struggles. very believable romance, with cute moments and steamy scenes. sometimes the characters were a little obtuse, with misunderstandings that could have been avoided but i could say that about almost every romance out there!

    Great story! Very well written and well edited story with a twist of fantasy. Unlike some fantasy stories I've read, the names are not too difficult to pronounce or keep track of. Light on the steamy scenes but still, a very cute love story between the hero and heroine. Highly recommend!

    Very enjoyable! Well written and developed characters. Like most stories with a secondary romance, I tend to like the secondary characters more and wish for THEIR happiness instead! And yep, I did end up ling Troy and Felicia more than Dean and Kelly. I think it's because I didn't really like Dean all that much. Sure, he had emotional damage, but it seemed a bit forced and it could have been explained better. And seeing that he is the founder of his own biogenetics company, you'd think he was smart enough to realize his own feelings!

    From the beginning pages, I understand that this book is the first of a trilogy but I don't think I'll be reading the rest. There's very little character development and practically NO development on the main male character. Basically the story reads as boy meets girl, boy kidnaps girl, boy and girl have lots of sex with some paranormal dangers thrown in on the side.

    Very good read! Minor spelling/grammar/editing mistakes. I do wish there was more white space in between the lines of text, but that's just my preference. Great story involving all sorts of paranormal and fantasy beings: weres, witches, vampires, fae, gods, goddesses and deities. I liked the two protagonists although I did think their romance blossomed a bit too fast to be realistic. Loved the secondary romance as well. Would thoroughly enjoy seeing this world expanded into more books.

    Epic. This story is long (297 pages in PDF!) but is written with such richness and it's such a grand and sweeping adventure. Minor spelling and grammar articles that don't distract too much from the story. Highly recommend!

    Enjoyed this very much! Loved the world of rebellion and evil ruler/emperor that was put forth. The hero and heroine were likeable and strong and their romance was very sweet and realistically entwined with the events happening. Good length, highly recommend.

    Cute, enjoyable story with a few steamy sex scenes. The plot and dialogue tend to skew a bit melodramatic at times, but the story is set in Vegas, so I guess a little stretching of the imagination is acceptable.

    Very well written! I've read some of Tara Janzen's full length Steele Street books before and really enjoyed her style of writing. She has a talent for creating well developed, strong likeable characters with a plot that is interesting but still plausible that the two protagonists would still fall for each other. Highly recommend!

    Very good! Surprisingly modern at times, which is quite enjoyable! No weird medieval language that would detract from the story. Steamy scenes and true love with swordfighting and a touch of paranormal.

    I didn't like the story as much as her Choosing Love series, which I HIGHLY recommend. The hero and heroine are very sweet together, and I can believe the feelings between them and how quickly they grew as well. I just wished for more suspense and danger! It could've been (in my opinion) more fleshed out from that persepctive. Also, the cover art is slightly weird... Solid story, all in all. Can't wait for the 3rd installment in the Choosing Love series, which I hope is coming soon!

    If I could rate it 3.5 stars, that would be my rating! Very cute and funny story - although it is quite short! The characters' story did seem to wrap up a bit too neatly but still fun to read.

    3.5 stars. Sentences are a bit short so the writing doesn't flow as well as it could. Minor spelling errors. Sometimes the dialogue is a bit too projecting - it's like the characters are saying aloud their private thoughts. Good story, if a bit simple and predictable.

The author does have a note in the beginning that this short story is related to some of her other works but as a reader who is unfamiliar with those works, I was very confused!     Excellent story! Two very strong and well written characters who are broken in their own ways finally learn to love one another amid a sudden danger that has cropped up in their lives. There is a bit of suspension of belief you have to do in order to get into the story, but hey, it's romantic suspense! Recommended!
