The Nature of Mathematics Given Physicalism
Price: Free! Words: 15,560. Language: English. Published: June 1, 2018. Categories: Nonfiction » Science & Nature » Mathematics
This project aims to explore whether and in what way mathematics can be accommodated within the physical world. It is concluded that it seems possible to accommodate mathematics within a physicalist ontology and, more than that, that a physicalist account of the nature of mathematics indeed seems most plausible all things considered. This has intriguing implications for the nature of mathematics.

The conclusion reached in "Fathoming Gödel" is that Gödel's 1931 paper is a shell game. It is based on several errors that are well camouflaged. Some shortcomings in the paper are openly admitted although they are downplayed, and errors are also produced in an effort to force a particular conclusion. This critique is limited to Gödel's first incompleteness theorem as translated by Martin Hirzel.

While it is impossible to draw a circle with Bézier curves, it is quite possible to emulate one so well that, when viewed by human eyes, the drawing is indistinguishable from an actual circle. All you need to do is use the right value of the Bézier control points. This value is the radius of the circle multiplied by a constant known as the kappa. This book tells you the right value of the kappa.

2017 Revision! How can we restructure the calendar so that days no longer 'leap' around month to month and year to year, and so that seasons don't shift through the months of the calendar? This book answers that question. There's an important distinction between a calendar and time. A calendar is a tool; durations of time are what the tool measures.
