Started off slow but it quickly hooks on to you. I found it hard to put down! Ms. Waldrop was able to write the story from a teenager's perspective with no issue. She expresses the roller coaster that all teenagers ride with no issue and adding in the supernatural element helped enhance the "roller coaster ride" even more.

I'll be honest, this book didn't get me right off the back. However as the story progressed it was hard to put down.
I really started to enjoy the whole concept of a town out of the norm.
The character Genevieve was well written and for a teen, that is a feat all it's own.
It was refreshing that Ms. Waldrop was able to blend a tale of growing up and not accepting things just because, but on the fact that they were.
It in itself was well written with fun supporting characters and loads action.
A great read for those teens looking for something a bit new and fun.

The story of "Ties to the blood moon" is interesting and held by attention till the end.The concept of werewolf/vampire hybrid is interesting. But I couldn't relate with Gen's love with William and Joseph. The story-line has lot of similarities to Twilight. And there is a twist in the end that I didn't see coming.
The story of "Tie to the blood moon" follows Gen as she moves to her Aunt's home in Alaska after the death of her mother. There she makes new friends and after some events gets entangled in local myths and realize she is an werewolf princess who is supposed to unite the different clans which are at war.As the story progress she find that her mother is alive and makes a quest to claim the throne and save her mother.
A lot of things are left unexplained like how she gets visions when she touch things

I love to read stories that you just can't figure out how they will end. Although this book began slow, and sometimes you could see what may happen, I enjoyed going along for the adventure as with every page a new twist would emerge. When the adventure truly began I couldn't put this book down, I would recommend this if you have a love of the paranormal suspense. Interesting read, as I have read the sequel, I can't wait to find out how their story ends.

I received this book on condition of providing a review. I did enjoy this book. I did think the characters could have been developed a bit more thoroughly, and hope that v.2 will do that. Genevieve is an orphan who has gone to live with her aunt in Haven, Alaska. She gets drawn into the strange mythology of the area, but is surprised that the locals, including her new best friend, Luna, take it all very seriously. She's even more shocked to discover that she is at the center of the myth, as the expected werewolf princess, born to save them all.
Genevieve has two romantic interests: William, the hot, mysterious fellow newcomer to Haven, and Joseph, Luna's twin brother.
This first volume of the series tells of how Genevieve learns the truth of her circumstances and starts to deal with and address what needs to be done. Underneath, she's still a sometimes bratty teen, who's mourning the loss of her mother in a catastrophic fire and leaning the unimaginable about herself.

For those interested in paranormal fantasies about werewolves and vampires, I would would recommend this book.
