She graduated with Honors from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education in Social Studies. Her main passion of studies is anything related to Geography.
When Donetta is not writing, she loves to read, watch movies, swim, shop at framers markets, and travel (including a book in one hand and rum drink in the other). And she enjoys good food, coffee, wine, conversation with close friends, and snuggling next to someone special by a warm fire.

This book, the first of a two-part series, follows the story of Alex Larsen after his release from three years of captivity by a powerful drug cartel in Colombia. At times, he has a very difficult time readjusting to civilian life, especially since his family and friends were told that he was presumed dead. But all is not lost as he discovers true love for the first time in his life with the stunning Elsie Strand. However, the road to love is never easy, as both Alex and Elsie each bring their fair share of baggage to the relationship. This tale, as was the case in the previous three novels by author Donetta Marie, is captivating and emotionally engaging. The author astutely depicts all of the foibles of life with realism and charm. You’ll experience the characters’ joys, but you’ll also share their considerable pain. The story is enthralling and the pacing is superb. I would highly recommend this novel, and I’m anxiously awaiting the arrival of the next installment. Bravo!!!
