What wonderful insights. Like another reviewer, I laughed, I cried, and I'm still thinking. Anyone who has patted themselves on the back for making a "donation" to a homeless person or has volunteered in a soup kitchen or has donated old clothes to a shelter, etc. needs to read this book.

The truth in this story goes beyond its status of non-fiction. This chronicle of hope challenges the definitions of both success and worth, bringing out the light of a deeper truth. By the end, the reader is fully aware of what life can be like in the shoes of someone with no home, no job, and no options. This book is an excellent choice for socially-minded book clubs and any individual who has felt the despair of handing a dollar to someone on a street corner and wants to do so much more.
