Title: A Story not Wished to be Read
Author: Nicola Black
Rating: 4/5

Summary: This is a collection of poetry and the story is hidden amongst the poems that are in the collection.

Review: This short read, and by short I mean eight pages, is quite a good read for a poetry collection. You read through poems centering on things that everyone can relate to such as faith, love, loss, pain and other emotions, and there is the sense of begging to make the reader understand, to delve into deeper thought concerning the works within.
This deceptively short read will give you plenty to think about after you’ve turned the final page, and just what exactly was that story that did not want to be read?

I see myself in this girl when I was beginning to write. Her poems are still tainted heavily with innocence and child-like wonder of making the first lines and verses. Like me, she must have struggled with the perfect words but here, the poetry shows she has great potential to be a good writer. There are still a lot to learn but hey, this is the first book nonetheless and it is honest and impressive enough to leave an indelible mark to the reader as if reading a teenage heart's soul, filled with sadness, pain, love, wanting, hope and other thing that teens think about.

My most favorite poem is definitely 12/14/11. I see that this writer has lots of things to learn but way to go! I will support her as a fan!

I enjoyed this book very much. It was very deep and I could relate to some of the poems. Very good writing and such feeling went into all the lines that you know the author really was writing about what was on the inside. As someone who write poetry I appreciated all the poems in this book and thought it was very well written and deep on all aspects.

I enjoyed this short book. The poems were easy to read, lyrical and made me think. My favorite was the first poem 'Dark Passages.'

This collection of poems is meaningful and easy to understand. Literally, Ms. Nicola Black writes about the darkness in love and the light in freedom using a simplistic notion of hope. This interpretation might be only in my imagination but the poems show a yearning for a different life away from sadness but with optimism in the beauty of life and love. If you are looking for poetry with frost and flowers, you will enjoy A Story Not Wished to be Read. I love it!
