I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I think my lower expectations were because of the length (46 pages), and that it was described as a workbook. In reality, it pack a lot of useful information in that small space. And while it does have exercises to work through at the end of each section, there is a great deal of practical "how-to" materials to go with it.

Amy addresses a lot of issues that new (and even some very experienced) writers struggle with. She provides simple, easy to understand ways to deal with issues of "point of view," conveying a characters emotions with your writing, and even the best way to use adverbs and adjectives.

If you are serious about improving your writing, and in drawing your readers into your story, you need to read (and work through) "Bring Your Writing to Life."
