Blood Lust marks my first taste of author Lisa McCourt Hollar's work and it certainly won't be my last. This is a well written tale of horror which successfully builds the tension to an unexpected climax.

The scenes switch smoothly between the child's world and that of the adults in the story. There is too a sense throughout the tale that the child's parents are too wrapped up in their own concerns to really pay much attention to their young daughter. And that a child's fears can be so easily dismissed as fantasy and nightmare.

I would love to say more about Blood Lust and it's wonderful characterisations and story-telling but to do that I would be forced to give away too many spoilers. So I will leave by saying that I highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in horror stories.
