About Autumn

Autumn Dawn writes futuristic, urban fantasy and paranormal romance. With over twenty books and six series, she continues to thrill fans with her werewolves, dragons, elementals, gargoyles and trolls with a thing for Poe.

She spent most of her life in Alaska, including several winters in a cabin in the woods, where she became intimately acquainted with outhouses, generators and woodstoves. Her years of snow machines, boating and mosquitos convinced her to move her family to Washington, where she basks in the “tropical” winters. I enjoyed The Charmer so much I bought this one but sadly it was a disappointment. I think the lives of Wiley and Jayems were better portrayed in The Charmer. More like a book on Wiley's perspective. The end was rather abrupt too. I love The Darkland series but this the least enjoyable.

This is definitely a short story companion to The Charmer... basically a retelling of some scenes from Wiley's perspective. I did enjoy it but it did seem to end a rather random part of The Charmer and so it felt a bit abrupt. Nice to get a new view on things though.

Great book! I loved the different intake from Wiley's point of view.. it tells us readers more about Wiley and the type of person she is, her likes and dislikes. The only thing I didn't like was that it's less detailed than The Charmer and it sort of skips parts in the story... nevertheless good read...
