Ivan McLelland was raised in the small town of South Porcupine, Ontario, where he was plucked from the Dome gold mine by hockey's New York Rangers.
Sent to the Penticton Vees for seasoning, McLelland established himself as one of the premier amateur goaltenders in Canada of his time.
Ivan lives in Penticton, British Columbia. and is an enthusiastic fan of the current Penticton Vees. He is an ambassador for hockey, as well as for the city where he chose to live and raise his family.
McLelland is also a steadfast fundraiser for Good Samaritan Village by the Station and the Alzheimer’s Society.

Great book to read - I live in Penticton, so this book provides a bit of interesting history of the area, around the time that Ivan (the author) played for the Vee's. I recommend this book to anyone living in the Okanagan.
