About Joleene Naylor

Joleene Naylor is the author of the glitter-less Amaranthine vampire universe, a world where vampires aren't for children. Comprised of a main series, a standalone prequel, and several short story collections, she has plans to continue expanding with a trilogy and several standalone novels.

In her spare time, Joleene is a freelance book cover designer and for-fun photographer. She maintains several blogs, full of odd ramblings, and occasionally updates her website at In what little time is left ,she watches anime, plays PokemonGo, and works on her crooked Victorian house in Villisca, Iowa. Between her husband, family, and pets, she is never lonely, in fact, quite the opposite. Should she disappear, one might look for her on a beach in Tahiti, sipping a tropical drink and wearing a disguise.

One of the best ebooks on cover making around. I started with this and I've never regretted it. Easy to follow, well-written. A must for anyone looking at making their own covers.

Although I have designed two e-book covers of my own, my third one was just not working. My thanks to Joleene Naylor for hints and tips to set me back on the right path, enabling me to try things in my program, Photoshop, that I previously couldn't comprehend.

Before reading this informative book, I had no idea where to go or how to get started in creating cover art for my stories. Years ago I used MS Publisher a little and took a class to learn how to use Photoshop. The author's clear explanations and cogent advice gave me the courage to dust off those old skills and create my own cover art. Exactly what I was looking for!

Before getting this book I knew virtually nothing about buying images and was really struggling to get anything useful out of Gimp. Having read this book I have now designed and published 5 book covers. Best money I have spent this year!

This ebook is very helpful. I can't thank Joleene enough for her valuable information. Her book helped me to plan and coordinate the cover for my very first published ebook on Smashwords. I will keep this book as a reference for future projects. You won't be disappointed. Never underestimate the importance of a good book cover.

I downloaded this book to help me design the cover for my novel, A Military Republic. The book has excellent advice about licensing photos, websites for buying photos and above all an invaluable guide to using gimp for designing the cover. I definitely recommend this to cover designing beginners.
