Pay For Me

Rated 5.00/5 based on 1 reviews
A satirical look at life through the eyes of one of those young people who might be riding the bus next to you, chewing--seemingly innocently--on a rice cake. This particular young gal, on her way to work, considers her life in contrast to the ease of those around her, and makes a plan. This short story was first published in Seattle's Point No Point magazine.

Review by: David Berberick on Jan. 17, 2013 :
Ms. Podesta knows how to let a character create herself in your mind by letting you spend a few minutes in hers (the character's, not Ms. Podesta's). The narrative is a movie camera documenting a post-teen searching through her house for a misplaced item, all the while providing non-stop commentary on whatever she sees, touches, and trips over. Very delightful.
