Day Of The Dogs

Day of the Dogs speculates on what could happen to our advanced society during a solar storm. It's an exciting, insightful look at what may happen if people realized they only had one week of civilization left. This fictional disaster unleashes cultural, racial, religious, and class fault lines worldwide. Liberals may find the non PC and realistic portrayal of events and people depressing. More

About Doug McIntosh

My name is Douglas McIntosh. I have lived in the Pacific Northwest for most of my life, except for some time in the US Army in Germany back in the 1970s. I have been a commercial orchardist, an army medic, a restaurant cook, a security officer, and a phone surveyor in my life. Currently, I am a free-lance author trying to make a living at that.
My view of writing is that it is something I have to do. I think I have the gift of writing, or at least that is what many people have told me. I enjoy the process of writing. It is something that meets the creative urge that is a large part of my life. We are spiritual beings having a physical experience. Writing allows me to unleash the creativity I was born with; further, it allows me to explore this wonderful mystery called life. We are born for a purpose. My purpose is to write. It is as simple as that. It is said that your job should be something you enjoy. In my case, that job is writing.
I have been writing for several decades now. Yes, Virginia, I have gotten the piles of rejection letters to prove that. I plan to publish more e books in the future. I hope I will develop an audience that both understand and appreciate these books.
I currently have one e-book available for purchase on Smashwords. It is my end of the world science fiction novel called “Day of the Dogs.” It was originally on Amazons Kindle Select for most of 2012. I moved it to Smash words in order to increase my sales potential. Day got excellent reviews with an average of 4.1 on Kindle Select.
Mass-market paperback books cost $9 now. The hardback version is $27 these days. I think my price of $2.99 is a very good value for the money.
I hope people will buy my e-books. This will allow me to make a living as a free-lance author. I do appreciate all the support and positive book reviews I have gotten for my work. Thank you!
