Grimwold is the keeper of the Unicorn Chronicles, a vast library that holds the history of the unicorns of Luster, the world to which the unicorns fled when old Earth became too dangerous for them to remain.

Among those stories is the tale of Alma Leonetti, who set out to discover why a certain sweetness had disappeared from the world. Her quest takes her to the wizard Bellenmore, and finally to Luster itself, where she makes a daring request of the queen of the unicorns.

A short version of this story appears in "Dark Whispers" (Book 3 of The Unicorn Chronicles) Fans of the series will definitely want to read this longer and more detailed version, which features a guest appearance by young Ivy Morris, later known as "The Wanderer."
