About Natalie G. Owens

Pink velvet and black lace. Light and darkness. A world of contrasts exists in Natalie’s stories because every rose has its thorn. Her favourite stories to write are romances with a dark edge featuring brooding heroes, strong heroines, an intriguing mystery, and a good dash of fantasy.

Married, with one son, she now calls the beautiful island of Malta home after eleven good years in Atlanta, GA. As a professional editor and author, her days are always busy, but when she’s not working—or muttering to herself about her book plots like a batty old maid—she enjoys spending time with family and friends (both online and offline), sipping on a good shiraz, reading, cooking and entertaining, watching a good movie, travelling, and ogling shoe store displays. Most of all, she loves to meet and communicate with other authors and readers.

“This particular day, God had painted a lackluster sky and overpopulated it with moisture-filled gray clouds.” By Natalie Owens from An Eternity of Roses (The Valthreans Book 1)

Filled with gems like this one, Natalie Owens provides the reader with a journey into the wonder- world of painting with words in her paranormal romance An Eternity of Roses. Spanning several centuries, the story is about love—the power thereof and the perseverance of those lucky souls who’d found true love and wanted to reclaim it. It shows that love is indestructible, neither time nor evil could obliterate it. This is a powerful story written with excellent word usage to draw the reader right into the world of Emmaline and Adrian.

Every story has to have a villain and An Eternity of Roses is no different. Without providing a spoiler, I have to mention that Madeleine de Brandeville was portrayed as a well-balanced antagonist with enough character traits for the reader to understand her motivations. At times I pitied the woman for her brazen refusal to accept that love can never be forced.

This is not a quick read and readers should prepare themselves to spend some time with the characters Ms. Owens so skillfully created. The language is prosaic and the imagery is superb. The plot was well planned and executed and the ending left the reader with a sigh of satisfaction which in my opinion is a sign of a good book.

Overall this is a book I would recommend to all lovers of paranormal romance.

In a magnificent accident, I was privileged to receive a copy of “An Eternity of Roses” for review. This work, weaved in rich, lyrical language, is meant to be savored in dark, quiet evenings beside a fire. Wrap yourself in the warmth of a favored comforter and be immersed in a story you will not want to rush.

We meet Emmaline and Adrian at the threshold of a life they breathlessly anticipate living together, until fate and the schemes of an immortal separate them. Inducted into an existence neither of them pursued, and with Adrian's memories seemingly lost, we watch as Emma's search for the only man who can hold her heart spans centuries.

Emma and Adam, as they become, face adversaries mortal and otherwise, each with an agenda. It is a world where sides are chosen, loyalties drawn, and consequences draw their due. The result is entirely worthwhile.

The writing is gifted, the editing pure prowess, and the presentation unfolds without a hitch. There are intimate scenes explicit enough to avoid if one is disturbed by an author who does not close the door, but there as well emotion rather than lust predominates.

There is a theme of love in this novel as being a gift given or received, rather than a treasure to steal or covet. A magic there surpasses the greed, hate, and covetousness of those who do not understand true power ... and that portrayal, I believe, was the author's intention from the start.

Do yourself the service of reading this novel. Experience a work of true talent in storytelling and wordcraft.

Imagine falling in love then losing your love not for a couple of years but a couple of hundred and all due to the jealousy of another person, then you meet your love again and they have no memory of you. Hard to imagine but it makes you feel for Emmaline and she is such that you like her from the start but as she grows through the many years you have a much greater understanding and affection for her. Adrian/Adam also gathers your sympathy as he goes through the centuries never knowing who he is, you are cheering for them to meet and know that their love would be strong enough to last through the centuries. I hope that there will be more books in this series as there are different characters we meet that I would love to know more about as they caught your attention and affections in such a way that makes them unforgettable.

I enjoyed this unusual tale about two lovers who lose each other for decades due to someone else's evil intentions. More than anything, it's a testament to the power, strength and durability of love. Ms. Owens writes very well and it was a joy reading an ebook which contains so few errors.

I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.

WOW! Talk about everlasting love! This is the first book by Natalie Owens that I have read. I will definitely recommend this book to my friends. The road to fulfilling the promise of an everlasting love for Emma & Adam had indeed been symbolized by an eternity of roses. . .a single red rose daily to be precise. You have to read the book to find out why and how. Simply breathtaking! A journey you will not want to miss out. Highly recommended!
