About Charlie Canning

Charlie Canning taught English for ten years at three universities in Japan before getting his PhD in creative writing from the University of Adelaide. He published the creative part of his dissertation, the novel THE 89TH TEMPLE, in 2012. Three years later, he released a second novel called THE SIGN OF JONAH. In addition to these works, Canning has written a stage play, two screenplays, an academic writing textbook, and co-edited a collection of Japanese American literature.
