Kane is healing on his little slice of heaven in Puffin Cove, Newfoundland. But one look at a beautiful redhead in a quiet pub, and the life he has so carefully rebuilt tilts on its axis.
When Laura leaves her empty life behind, she certainly doesn't expect to fall instantly in love with a small east coast town, and a crusty, sexy Irishman. Warning: Adult language and sexual content. More

About Carla Doolin

Life is short, and love is what we strive for as human beings. This is why Carla Doolin writes contemporary adult romance. Her books are high on the spice scale, so take a pass if you don't like steam beyond the bedroom door. She writes about people who are so real, they could be your neighbours, and you'll wish they were your friends. It's hard not to fall a little in love with her characters, and you will find yourself rooting for them long before the happy ever after.

Carla wishes you love and happy reading as she walks her dogs with her most excellent husband, or rides away into the sunset on her Harley, waving the cool wave (her hubby says it's not cool to wave like you're swatting at seagulls). She'd love to hear from you. She can be found any day of the week on Facebook, Twitter, or at her website.

*Got an ARC in exchange for an honest review.*

Everything in this books was designed as the picture perfect love story, even their "fights". I would've given this book a higher rating if not for that. Well, that's just not my cuppa.

h: I liked that Laura braved it and tried to find what really makes her happy, even if that meant not being near her kids. She was a talented, fun loving person who embraced Newfoundland (the place was so fitting for her).

H: Ohhh... Kane! What can I say? I loved his character. He is hawt!!! He is artistic (I've not read books with crafty men), he works great with kids and he does things with his hands (if you know what I mean... Hehehe *wink wink*).

"It kinda goes like this. Bu-bump, bu-bump. And then... when I give 'er a little more gas, she picks up speed, and the faster I rev 'er, the louder and faster the bumpin'... 'til I think it's gonna jump righ outta me chest!"

Of all the supporting characters in this book, I looooved Shannon's the best!
"I gots ta," she said, a serious look on her little face. "I'm gonna marry you."

Would I recommend this book? Yes!

I so loved this book, well done Carla on your first book, well written. Funny, sexy, and I so want a holiday in "Canada" now. I am a RN as well and can so relate to the "burnout" and midlife crisis.
I am looking forward to your second! when will it be out???

This is an excellent book. I read it twice because I enjoyed it so much. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book. I really felt like these characters were alive.

Amazing book! Definitely substituted sleep for another hour (or two) curled up with these beautiful characters. So well-written you can visualize each face, hear each voice and see every wave crashing along the Newfoundland coast. I was easily drawn into the lives of each character...I can't wait for the story to continue with Landon and Jill! Great job Ms. Doolin!

I completely agree with the first review, a great story. Did not want to put it down and was sad that the next book is not finished. Charcaters, setting, story line; it's all delightful. Hard to believe this is the writers debut novel. I'm eagerly awaiting her next book and hoping for many more to follow.

I gave up sleep to finish this book! If this is your first effort, well done! I am in love with Kane! My favorite type of guy, hot and handy with a heart. Laura was for the most part a strong, fun character with the occasional bout of insecurity. Throw in opionated friends, swearing infatnts and a landscape to write poetry to and you have a winning combination.
