This book has more value than many other books in its category. I have personally tried some of these recipes, and a lot of them were really good. Many of these smoothie recipes are easy to do, and they're also legitimately healthy. They fit well within a health-centered and weight-neutral approach.

However, none of these should be used as meal replacements. Detoxing doesn't work, and if it did work, it would actually be dangerous. Going on low-calorie diets like this just causes metabolic damage, leading to weight gain in the end.

Working towards self-acceptance and adopting healthier habits will yield better results. The author is wrong: not everyone wants to lose weight. People can get the health benefits of smoothies like this one way or another.
