I really didn't know what to expect from this book, but it was set in Newfoundland and the 1800's and sounded really creepy, which of course if right up my alley.
I liked the main character Phoebe right away, she was quiet and sweet and in a very bad place in her home life. Her father hated her and treated her as a servant in her own home.
Her father sells her to Lord Jacobs and ships her off to Newfoundland, Canada. When Phoebe arrives, things don't seem normal, but to Phoebe she feels she fits right in. She starts getting nightmares that plauge her everynight. In her quest to unravel the reasons for her nightmares and the secrets around her new Master, Phoebe not only uncovers a mystery at her new home, but falls in love with her new employer.
It is a wonderful book, I was hoping it would have been much longer as it was just over 100 pages, it had the potential to go much bigger. I didn't want to stop reading, I give it 5 stars for sure, a really easy read and you will enjoy all the characters. It has mystery, suspense, just the right amount of horror, Vampires, Witches, and a love story all in one.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to anyone.
