This is a practical and easily understood guide to using markdown. It contains everything that writers need to know.

Markdown is a simple way to use plain text to add formatting, such as **bold** or *italic*, without needing a complicated word processor. It is possible to insert links, lists, indented text, and much more, even with an application like Notepad.

Do you want to remove distractions get back that feeling of looking at nothing but an empty page and the words (minus all the ribbons, buttons and icons)?

"Markdown for Writers" makes learning markdown so simple that it should only take you an hour or two to master. After this, you can focus on your words instead of your software. The best part is that you can edit your documents using any application that can edit .txt files. This means no more worrying about file formats and compatibility issues.
