Matters of Life, Death and Laughter

Matters of Life, Death and Laughter is a trio of Joyce Mason's most popular short stories and a sampler of her fiction. "Digital" tells a bizarre and darkly humorous tale about something that turns up where it doesn’t belong. "The Training Tape" asks you to think about what you say repeatedly and its effects. "Zoe's Hair" examines the depth of friendship and how it transcends time. More

About Joyce Mason

I'm Joyce, and writing is like breathing for me. It's life itself! I fell in love with words at a very early age. I celebrate how words connect us and govern our quality of life. My trademark as an author is depth insights with humor.

I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, went to the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and after a few years in Northern Wisconsin, I moved to Sacramento, CA. I have lived in the "Big Tomato" since 1973. I am also a reunion junkie. I have been reunited with all my lost loves including birth mom and first boyfriend. He has been my husband since 1998, decades from when we first met in Catholic school when we were 12. To me the best writing and living comes from never forgetting we're all kids at heart.
