An addictive series. I was hesitant because I don't usually like historical books, but I love it. I only started reading this series a week ago and am already up to book seven. Fascinating people, great storylines, and wonderful beings. A must read (in order)

Sweet interlude, but you really should read the first novel beforehand.

Just finished the Whyborne & Griffin short story Eidolon. 5 stars! This little gem is from Griffin's POV of their first Valentine's day...which is unfortunately interrupted by a new client, a talisman, and the fact it needed to be returned before dark or anyone in the vicinity of it could be in mortal peril. What a way to screw up the V-day Griffin had planned. And yet, the two find a way to make up for it. Sweet, hot, scary...a combination the author is really good at.

I suggest you read the other Whyborne & Griffin novels first. Though this does make a nice little romantic interlude...scary creatures and cackling old guys aside ;)
