Welcome to my world! Come in, pull up a chair, grab a glass of iced tea and let's chat.
I grew up in a small rural town in Oklahoma where our favorite entertainment on summer evenings was to sit outside under the stars and tell stories. When I went to bed at night, instead of a lullaby, I got a story. That could be due to the fact that everybody in my family has a singing voice like a bullfrog with laryngitis, but they sure could tell stories—ghost stories, funny stories, happy stories, scary stories.
For as long as I can remember I've been a storyteller. Thank goodness for computers so I can write down my stories. It's hard to make listeners sit still for the length of a book! Like my family, my stories are funny, scary, dramatic, romantic, paranormal, magic.
Besides writing, my interests are reading, eating chocolate and riding my Harley.
Currently I have published six cozy mysteries in two series: Death by Chocolate; Murder, Lies and Chococolate; The Great Chocolate Scam; and Chocolate Mousse Attack. Charley's Ghost: The Ex Who Wouldn't Die and The Ex Who Glowed in the Dark. More books in each series will be published as soon as I copy them from brain to computer!
I have sold fifteen romance novels ranging from comedy to dark suspense under the names Sally Carleen, Sally Steward and Sara Garrett. For these novels, I won several awards including National Readers' Choice, Romantic Times Best Silhouette Romance and two Rita finalist slots. Most of the Silhouettes are available as e-books, and I have e-pubbed three of the out-of-print single titles.
Contact information is available on my website. I love to talk to readers! Okay, I just plain love to talk!

One of the best books I've read in a long time! I love the heroine's spunk and curiosity and I really like all the detail and interwoven scenes. I had to read all the way to the end in one sitting - just couldn't put it down! Can't wait to pick up more from this author!

I thought this book was great. Written in a very readable narrative style, although I would make a tiny suggestion that it be formatted right-justified as it makes for easier reading on smaller devices such as iPhones.
However, once my eyes adjusted to the formatting, the storyline was excellent, compelling and interesting. The characters are lovable - or hatable, as appropriate - and Lindsay is a fantastically strong and well-drawn character.

I'd give this book a solid 3.5. It was a short book - 189 pages on my nookcolor. A nice little mystery between some heavier reads.
Lindsay is a chocolatier. She owns a shop "Death by Chocolate". On the edge of divorce, she finds her soon to be ex wants her back. At the same time, something mysterious is up with her best friend, neighbor, co-worker Paula - something almost criminal. Can Lindsay help while side stepping her own pesky husband? Is she putting herself in danger?
Kind of the same lines as the high heel series, except that the story is much lighter and less burdened with details. Lindsay is a very likable. We see her struggle with her own failed marriage and her own shortcomings, but yet her fierce loyalty to her friends. Lots of other neat characters including neighbor Fred, Detective Adam Trent, and a fluffy cat that adopts Lindsay.
I really enjoyed it.
