Review by: #1 on June 28, 2014 :
The author has written a bueatifly detailed world set in World War 2 Germany. The tension Maria feels as she performs her duties as a nurse and spy to the nazi resistance is vividly felt throughout the story. The interactions between Maria and Jon, and her interactions with Karlovy are very well written and believable. The author also gives an excellent view into a lifestyle that is not normally protraide in any real significant way in most other genera. Overall excellent read.

This is a beautifully crafted tale of the adventures of a young American nurse in wartime, masterfully set against the backdrop of Third Reich controlled Germany. As a Red Cross aid worker, Maria Schaffer's efforts will capture your heart. As a foreigner in a land controlled by insanity, her attempts to provide aid and comfort in an indiscriminate manner will inspire you. And as a young woman, her strength in turmoil and her refusal to back down or surrender against the abuses of her captors will fill your heart with hope and joy.
