What happens when a first-time dominant and submissive come together? The answer is a great deal of heartache. This is not a romance; it’s a story about one person’s need to control and dominate another.

Brendon is an AFL footballer who advertises on the internet for a submissive. Suzie, a secretary at Homicide Squad, is curious and answers his ad. More

Although well written (except some grammatical errors), the book lacks a well developed storyline, or at least one that has not already been told. There is no background information for the main characters and we are left with questions about whom they really are. Brendon, the supposed 'Dom,' is nothing more than an abusive control freak that you continually ask why Suzie doesn't have enough self-esteem to say "Enough!" The end of the story has you questioning 'women's liberation' and 'female empowerment' as Suzie agrees to change herself for the promise of 'girlfriend status,' making it hard for me to question "Why?" Overall, the story failed to create a believable BDSM story and made me either pity (Suzie) or dislike (Brendon) the main characters and not want to continue their journey.

Definitely a great read and recommend others to check out this book and the rest of the series as the characters are very likeable and realistic. The storyline that is well rounded with enough detail and spark to keep you turning pages but not overdone to scare you off. I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author via Voracious Readers Only and after finishing it in 1 day also read the second one in the series i. 1 day as it was also available complimentary here on jonesing for the 3rd book so I can get back to seeing how the main characters Brendon and Suzie are doing and are going to further grow and change!

I have never written a review on Smashwords until now. I was so appalled by the outcome of this book. I'm an avid reader of everything BDSM and erotica and I have to say this book was painful and not in a good way. This is the first work I've read from this author and I really wanted to love it and read the entire series. I tend to gravitate towards well written series and I'm a loyal reader once I find an author I love. This however was a big let down for me, because while the story is well written, the characters are hard to fall in love with. This is the first time I've spent the entire book hoping and praying Suzanna (our heroine) would leave and never look back, that she would stop letting herself be controlled with sex. Normally that's the fun bit. This time it was just frustrating. Brendan (our would be hero) is somewhat wealthy and has a bit of notoriety, thus his behaviour in the beginning is understandable to a point. But then he becomes less and less attractive every time he says something disrespectful and hurtful. Their association (Brendan repeatedly makes sure Suzanna knows she is not and will never be his girlfriend...just wait till you find out why) is sorely lacking any substance and Brendan does not seem to have any redeeming qualities. There were so many moments where he disrespects her and his ultimatum around the future of their "relationship" turned my stomach. And as for the big finish.....we get insult added to injury...Brendan asks Suzanna to do something to prove she's committed to him. And SHE SAYS YES! Un-f@$!ing-believable. I'm still angry and absolutely refuse to read any more from this series though I haven't yet given up on this author.
