From a Foreign Shore: Stories of History and Alternate History

What if someone had conquered the Vikings, claiming to be their gods?
What if King Arthur's knights met a very different metal-clad warrior?

Five short stories explore different aspects of history, some of them grounded in reality, some alternative takes on the past as we know it. More

About Andrew Knighton

I write fantasy, steampunk and science fiction. I’ve had around fifty short stories published, ranging from the life of a sorrowful robot to a steampunk adventure in the sewers beneath Venice.

When not writing fiction I’ve worked as a teacher, academic, data analyst, project manager and, in my darkest hour, a call centre employee. Over the years I've studied medieval history, management, teaching and social research. I now work as a freelance writer for websites, books, apps, and anything else that needs words strung neatly together.

I indulge in all the best hobbies. Comics, wargames, board games, roleplay games (both live action and tabletop), and of course reading genre fiction. I like to think that it fuels my creativity. Really, it’s all just a big distraction, but isn’t that what life’s all about?
