To get a promotion, Rachel Evans is willing to traipse through an uncharted piece of jungle with the man she hates—her boss, Donald Rumsinger. Originally published in 2003, THE ARRIVAL HAS BEEN NEWLY REVISED AND EXTENDED TO A MID-LENGTH FANTASY/SCI-FI ROMANCE NOVEL.
Linguistic specialist, Dr. Rachel Evans would do anything to get a promotion. That includes traipsing through an uncharted jungle with the man she hates more than any human on the planet — her boss.
Bring on the snakes, bugs, and caimans.
Years of working for Donald Rumsinger has convinced Rachel that she can handle anything–anything but being sacrificed by the natives to ward off a fierce sex god named Eros. A girl has to draw the line somewhere.
The only thing keeping Eros, King of the Atlanteans from giving up hope of saving his people is the prophecy foretelling the Arrival of his destined mate. Now that he’s found Rachel, he intends to keep her.
Rachel isn’t anyone’s Queen and she’s certainly not a savior, but a few sultry nights spent in Eros’s loving arms just might change her mind. When she’s ‘rescued’ by her boss, he offers Rachel a deal: Give him credit for discovering the Atlanteans and he’ll ensure that she gets the promotion she’s always wanted. All she has to do to make her dream come true is betray Eros.

I thought that the writing was outstanding in this book and unlike many of Ms. Summers' contemporary peers, she does not throw in awkward gratuitous sex scenes. Instead, she uses her talents to build excitement and intrigue in both the characters and the reader. After reading the first book, I subsequently bought the rest of the series and would encourage any reader interested in paranormal or sci-fi erotica to give it a read. You won't be disappointed.

I have bought the whole series of these books. I read these when they came out through another publisher and really enjoyed them. Purchased all of the extended series as well. I have read the first one so far and I'm thrilled with the extended version as well. The characters are wonderful, the men are exotic and sexy, the story line is great and the sex in the story is hot, hot, hot. I didn't want to put the book down. I can't wait to read the other stories as well. I really love Jordan's writing and I look forward to reading all of the other books I've purchased.

A bit confusing in parts with the charactors popping up but I really liked the alpha hero who lets no one stand in his way for his goal! Heated scenes kept me a captivated reader. I recommend this read and will purchase the next one...
